How to prepare for your scan

Proper preparation helps us capture the best possible images and provide accurate results.

  • Abdominal Ultrasound: Fast for 6 hours before your appointment (only water allowed).

  • Renal, Pelvic & Obstetric Ultrasound: Drink 1 litre of water and arrive with a full bladder.

  • Vascular, Musculoskeletal & Superficial Scans: No special preparation required.

We’ll confirm your specific preparation instructions when you book your scan.

What you need to bring:

πŸ“Œ Ultrasound referral from your GP or specialist
πŸ“Œ Medicare card (for bulk billing eligibility)
πŸ“Œ Any concession cards (Pensioner, DVA, Healthcare Card)

Billing

While we try to bulk bill our patients where we can, many ultrasounds scans are not fully covered by Medicare, and attract a gap fee.

These fees are required to be paid on the day of your scan. When this is the case, you will be informed by our friendly staff prior to your scan.

We accept payment by EFTPOS, credit card and direct credit into our bank account (details provided if required).
